There’s No WHAT In This House?

Every morning I wake up in this new place that we’ve landed and I’m amazed by the weather. At this time of the year in all of the places that I’ve lived before, we would still be running the air conditioner and stripping off as much clothes as we can decently get away with. We don’t even have an air conditioner here! And more importantly, we don’t need it! How AWESOME is that?

In the mornings, it’s in the mid-50’s and by the middle of the day, it’s only in the mid-70’s. During the day, we just open the windows and it’s perfectly comfortable. At night, we open the windows and it’s just cool enough to snuggle under a light blanket. My husband and I are getting some of the best sleep of our lives!

I’ve always been a hot weather girl. I grew up in Florida, lived in Texas, Arizona and most recently in Oklahoma. I have spent way more hours than my dermatologist wishes I had basking in the sun, but this is something new and different for me. There’s a freshness about the day, a happiness in just throwing those windows open and letting the breeze flow through our home. I know it may seem simplistic, but yes, I am finding the weather here AWESOME!

I agree Odette….sometimes it is the small things that make life awesome. Hate to admit this but it took getting older to realize that. Yes, a small thing like weather makes like awesome!!

Yeah, I hate that getting older part, but you are exactly right! I think that we have to have some life to reflect on to see that what has made for the best of times has been those little things.
